I just got Fujitsu PRIMERGY TX100 S3 and wanted to set it up with RAID1. It has 250GB primary drive and I added two 1TB drives for storage. I enabled and initialized drives in the MegaRAID submenu and can see them correctly on the boot up screen as 'online'. I want to install either Windows 7 pro or XP. When I tried to install using ServerView, it didn't detect any hard drives and installations was aborted. I even disabled RAID but ServerView still doesn't see hard drives. With disabled RAID, when I tried Windows 7 installation all disk hard drives are visible but I didn't go ahead with install since I wanted hardware RAID support.

How can I get RAID controller to be recognized? Are there drivers missing on the ServerView disk? Windows 7 and XP are not supported on this server as they are not server operating systems Having said that they should work but you wont be able to use ServerView for the installation. Allthough an unsupported configuration you may be able to get the installation to work by installing natively from the Windows media To do this you will either have to turn the hardware RAID off so that Windows sees all the disks (then potentialy software-RAID them from within the OS) - or to try to find drivers for the RAID controller Though Fujitsu don't supply drivers for Win7 or XP you may have some success using the W2K3 drivers (for XP) or the W2K8 drivers (for Win7). You would have to download these drivers from the download site then supply them to the Windows installer when prompted so that the installer can see your RAID volumes.

And he also wrote that no warranty can be given that this would actually work. WHS apparently is quite picky about additional drivers, just like SBS. But back to the real question: Indeed, the SV Installation Manager DVD should be able to access (and configure) the installed disks, irregardless of the OS intended to be installed later. Which version of SV-IM do you use? SV-IM should offer a tool called SV-RAID for the disk configuration; what does this tool present? Which BIOS settings did you set for the SATA controller (assuming you're using the onboard controller)? Windows xp drivers pack download.
